
Alfredo Mendoza Ahuatzin
Soprano Saxophone

He obtained a doctorate in music from the University of Montreal in 2011. He studied at the
University of Alberta where he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in music (performance)
under the direction of Dr. William H. Street. In 2008 he participated in the Internationales
Musikinstitut Darmstadt in Germany. Alfredo is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council
for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du
Québec.
His musical interests vary from classical repertoire to mixed music and the avant-garde. His solo
and ensemble recordings can be found online ligne (Ahuatzin, Consonnances modernes ).
Alfredo teaches music at PSNM and classical saxophone at the college level at École de
musique Vincent-d’Indy. A sought-after clinician and teacher, he loves teaching saxophone to
new generations of saxophonists in the greater Montreal area. He is also a saxophonist with the
Royal Canadian Navy Band in Montréal.
Corinne Lanthier
Alto Saxophone

A graduate of the Université de Montréal, where she completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Interpretation under the direction of Jean-François Guay, as well as an attestation in college pedagogy, Corinne has also benefited from the teaching of several great masters such as Jean-Marie Londeix, Jean-Michel Goury and Nobuya Sugawa. As alto saxophonist with the Quatuor de saxophones Nelligan, she has performed for several years at festivals and conferences abroad (Croatia, Scotland, Colombia, Mexico). She also takes part in various musical projects as a freelancer. In addition to her activities as a performer, Corinne is also an experienced teacher who participates in the training of up-and-coming musicians. She currently teaches at Cégep Marie-Victorin and Collège Notre-Dame.
Isabelle Choquette
Tenor Saxophone

Originally from the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu region, Isabelle holds a Master's degree in performance from the Université de Montréal, under the direction of Jean-François Guay. Isabelle received scholarships from the Fonds Les Amis de l'Art in 2001 and 2002, and from the Fondation Desjardins in 2002, as well as a Master's admission scholarship from the Université de Montréal. Parallel to her studies, Isabelle has taken part in master classes with Claude Delangle, Jean-Marie Londeix, Jean-Michel Goury, Daniel Gordon, Rémi Ménard and Daniel Gauthier.
A founding member of the Nota Bene saxophone quartet, with whom she has given over 150 concerts, Isabelle also performs with Carlos Placeres and directs the saxophone section of the Fusiliers Mont-Royal band. Isabelle taught saxophone at Ozias-Leduc high school in Mont Saint-Hilaire and is a full-time lawyer specializing in housing law.

Mathieu Gaulin
Baritone Saxophone

Mathieu Gaulin holds a master's degree in classical performance from the Université de Montréal, where he studied with Jean-François Guay. He also trained with André Pelchat and Jean-Marie Londeix. Mathieu has won numerous prizes (OSM Competition, Baie-St-Paul Saxophone Competition, Canadian Music Competition, etc.) and scholarships. In addition to classical music, his interests include jazz (in the broadest sense), pedagogy and music writing. Mathieu is a lecturer at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and teaches saxophonists at Ozias-Leduc high school.

Jérémy David
Manager

Jérémy David studied saxophone in his native France, at the Conservatoire d'Angers in the class of Jean-Yves Chevalier. He then studied for a year with Ronan Baudry at the conservatoire de Rennes, before arriving in Quebec in 2017, in Jean-François Guay's saxophone class at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Music. He obtained a bachelor's degree in 2020 and a master's degree in 2022, in classical saxophone performance. Currently working on his doctorate under the supervision of Jean-Eudes Vaillancourt and Jean-François Guay, Jérémy is interested in theatricality in instrumental performance. He is a recipient of scholarships for excellence from the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Music.
