He obtained a bachelor’s degree in 2020 and a master’s degree in 2022, in classical saxophone performance. Currently working on his doctorate under the supervision of Jean-Eudes Vaillancourt and Jean-François Guay, Jérémy is interested in theatricality in instrumental performance. He is a recipient of scholarships for excellence from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music.

Mathieu has earned prizes in several competitions (OSM,  Baie-Saint-Paul saxophone competition, Canadian Music Competition, etc.)  as well as grants. Besides classical music, Mathieu loves jazz, teaching, composing and arranging. Mathieu is professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and teaches the young students at Ozias-Leduc high school.

He attended the University of Alberta where he received a Bachelor and a Master of Music degrees under the guidance of Dr. William H. Street. In 2008, he attended the Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt in Germany. He is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Alfredo’s musical interests range from the renaissance and traditional saxophone repertoire, all the way to the electroacoustic and the avant-garde. Recordings of Alfredo can be found online in solo and chamber music settings (Ahuatzin, Consonnances modernes). Based in Montreal since 2008, Alfredo Mendoza is a faculty member at École de musique Vincent-d’Indy. He is a sought-after clinician and pedagogue in the region where he loves teaching the younger generations.
